Bio.

Tom Vergotis is a Director of Photography, Video Journalist & CASA Accredited Drone Operator.

Based in Brisbane, Australia, Tom specialises in documentary storytelling, corporate and social content. His International and Domestic clients include Hitachi, BHP, News Corporation, AECOM, Laing O’Rourke, Northrop Grumman, Besix Watpac, Lendlease, Origin Energy, Suncorp Group among others.

Beginning his career as a broadcast journalist for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Tom sharpened his news and shooting skills at the top end of Australia telling stories across Radio, Digital and Television, before moving permanently into TV News with the WIN Television Network. Following a stint at WIN TV, Tom was promoted to the role of Broadcast Journalist with the Nine Network in South East Queensland.

He was awarded the Nine Network’s Andrew Benetto Award for Excellence in Journalism, and has been nominated multiple times for Media Club honours. Tom has also been part of teams recognised for outstanding corporate campaign content winning a Cannes Gold and Bronze Lion Award, the highest international honour in the Advertising industry.

Tom owns and operates the latest in camera technology, including two Netflix approved full frame cinema cameras: the Sony FX9 and Sony FX6.

He flies the Mavic 4 Pro and holds a CASA RPA Operators Accreditation for drones under 2kgs.
